Motivational Message

This message was taped on the inside of a toolbox from a dealership that I saw in the final stages of construction this week. While the dealer was taking me on a tour of his soon-to-be-open new facility – I stopped while reading it and just stared at the list.

The immediate mental picture that I had was watching a foreman tell a laborer what they should and should not do. While I snapped a photo I thought of all the people in my career that had enormous amounts of talent but couldn’t follow this simple list. As I walked away I thought of all the people without a great deal of talent who live and die by a list like this that have become wildly successful.

He is also a firm believer that “attitude is everything” and that there is only minimal space between being good and being exceptional.
