I rarely write a blog that could fall into the category of the infamous Ripley’s ‘Believe It or Not!’ but here you go:
We believe when the moon is full, it could mean a more successful sale event.
I should insert an asterisk because it was Mike Strong who first noticed this unusual tie-in. Then I read an interview in the July issue of “Dealer” Magazine where a dealer was asked, “What is the craziest thing you’ve seen in this business?” His response, “Full moons are my favorite time to be at work, that’s for sure.”
This is a fact! In the past few months, Strong has seen a trend towards ‘big events’ pulling increased traffic. Not just one or two sales, but a variety of weekend-only events at several dealerships in all parts of the country and the one thing in common: a full moon!
So buy your media based on the most accurate information available, but think about ‘lunar lunacy’. Schedule your next ‘Moonlight Madness’ sale when the moon is hanging up there in full glory. And when the response is (I just have to say it) through the moon, let me know – we may be on to something really big!
